1. Will distance learning courses that have been completed at the AFW be transferred?
Yes, the students can receive full credit for up to 30 Credit Points (ECTS). Alumni can inform themselves about the credit points that can be transferred. The TUAS recognizes up to 30 ECTS, even though the students haven`t studied at the AFW.
2. How much do I invest?
Your investment for the studies amount to 7.200 Euro and has to be payed at the beginning of the studies. Alumni of the AFW receive a fidelity rebate in the amount of 800 Euro. The value-added tax is omitted. We provide the current pricelist for you at PDF-Download (look right).
3. Will there arise additional costs for the students?
No, especially since there are no in-class lectures.
4. Does the recognition of credit points lowers the costs?
No.
5. Is it possible to use an already written project work as a basis for the Master thesis (e.g. a project work in the context of the studies “Betriebswirt AFW”)?
Yes, but the project work, that has been graded, needs to be broaden by additional and deepened knowledge.
6. What other recognitions will be attainable?
On application in writing at the student administration office, there can be recognized various examinations (colleges, universities, non-university educational institutions, distance learning degrees). The advance performances accordingly reduce the time for studying. They can be taken into account with maximum 30 ECTS.
7. When can I begin with the MBA-studies?
At any time.
8. How do I study?
After having applied for the program (look right under PDF-Download), you will obtain access to the Campus of the WWEDU, which is an online-platform all about the MBA program. Once having the password, you can access all contents of the studies with video lectures and scripts. Campus provides a lot of functions for you which help you studying in an easy way and concentrating on the essentials. You will - among others - obtain access to blogs, discussion forums, downloads and forms.
Communicate and discuss together with your fellow students, with the lecturers and the student administration office about all interests concerning your studies.
9. How does the examination work?
Once having finished one module, you request the exam questions by email at the student administration office. After receipt, you have got 14 days to work on the assignments. Then you send the exam back to the student administration office. After the corrections of the assignments and with passing of the exam, you receive the certificate for this module directly.
   The Master thesis covers a complex problem from business practice. You coordinate the choice of the topic with the student administration office.
10. Will there be a final examination?
You won`t have to pass a particular final examination. Having completed successfully the partial exams of the general compulsary and the special optional subjects, you will be given the title “MBA” if your Master thesis is evaluated at least “sufficient”. In case of failure the supplementary exams take place at the WWEDU.
11. What kind of admission requirements do I have to comply with?
Completed interior or foreign University studies, that lasted at least six semesters, or University of applied sciences and three years of work experience. This experience can be made as well during the studies.
   Applicants to the MBA have to prove at least a Bachelor`s degree and relevant work experience. With regard to the admission procedure, it will be audited if non-academic degrees as the Harzburg diploma or Harzburg certificate and other types of education could possibly be recognized as well.
12. How do I apply?
You can download the valid application form from PDF-Download (see on the right). Please send your completed application form together with the requested papers to the following e-mail-address:
   On the third page of the application form you shall inscribe your number of course. You can find it on the price list (e.g. 018-02-90004 for “Betriebswirte AFW” with the field of study management; without pre-studies 018-02-90001).
The AFW will be informed about your application.
13. Who is my contractual partner?
The students conclude a contract with the finnish TUAS (Turku University of Applied Sciences). They can view the conditions for participation and the formalities of the TUAS on the website of the TUAS: TUAS.
14. Who is responsible for the entire distribution and the technical procedure?
Our partner in Austria, the WWEDU World Wide Education in Wels, which has obliged the AFW Wirtschaftsakademie to distribute the MBA in Germany.
15. Can I study the MBA in other languages as well?
Yes, besides German you can also study in English language. If you, for example, have decided for German, nevertheless you can study single modules in English.
16. How do I know if the studies are recognized also in Germany?
The MBA-program of the TUAS is a fully accredited studies because it is a program of an acknowledged European University. The basic principles for the recognition are regulated by the resolution of the standing conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs since 14th of April 2000.    The TUAS is an educational institution listed in the Anabin database as H/+. Anabin is an information system for the recognition of foreign degrees: http://www.anabin.de. Academic degrees of a state-approved educational institution are acknowledged in all the other countries of the European Union.
17. What is the exact title that I can acquire?
After having completed your studies successfully, there will be conferred the academic degree “Master of Business Administration (MBA)” on you.
